The DECODIT project had a strong presence at Enlit Europe 2025 in Bilbao, Spain from 18-20 November.

Almost half way into the second year of the 42 month project, DECODIT participants came with a background of steady progress over the earlier months, which was highlighted in the various activities over the three days.
The participation started on the first day with a session as part of the E-NERGY Cluster with the other project participants, DIGITIZE, ENERGENIUS, EU-DREAM and CELINE.
Moderated by Antonis Papanikolaou, strategy lead at Que Technologies, the DECODIT project overview and update was presented by Vassilis Antonopoulos, project technical lead at Que Technologies.
The second and third days were dominated by the DECODIT plenary, with progress reports from the various work packages and a brainstorming on how the living labs scenarios can be linked to the tools being developed in the project – a key factor in the co-creation process to ensure that the tools are those needed by the users.

On the second day also DECODIT presented a well attended session for Enlit attendees, with a deeper dive into the progress in the various areas of the project. Again moderated by Antonis Papanikolaou with a scene setting and overview from Vassilis Antonopoulos, other presenters were Aggeliki Aggeli, Assistant Professor at Aalborg University, and Lia Patricio, board member at INESC TEC and Associate Professor at the University of Porto, respectively outlining the co-creation and the service design approaches.
Pilot updates were presented by Antonio Soler, co-leader of the Spanish pilot and Maria Valliou from the Greek pilot and a detailed look at the DECODIT app with its AI assistant was demonstrated by Panos Tsarchopoulos, head of EU projects at Pragma IOT.

Following the presentation a panel discussion was held, addressing issues such as the barriers and challenges being experienced, the types of tools being demanded and how consumers can be stimulated to take an interest in the energy transition.
DECODIT also had a stand in the project zone throughout the event with a highlight being special DECODIT branded biscuits and Christmas decorations, thanks to the project marketing lead Mary Iakovidi from Enlit.
All in all participants were happy with the progress with the project and the opportunity to interact face-to-face with their peers.
“We have made progress in all the work packages and are moving in line with what has been promised,” said Stratis Kanarachos, DECODIT project lead, rounding off the plenary.
And following a proposal to hold forthcoming plenaries at the pilot sites, the invitation from the Spanish team to hold the next plenary in Murcia in southern Spain was gratefully accepted.
